About FLUCTLIGHT

FLUCTLIGHT was co-founded in 2018 by two partners during a period of study abroad from Hong Kong to Japan. If you’re familiar with “Artificial Fluctlight” (人工フラクトライト), you’ll understand the inspiration behind our name. Our long-term ambition is to develop fully immersive, full-dive games and hardware—though we recognize that remains science fiction for now.

Current Project Overview

Our in-progress title is KEEPSILENT, a PC top-down post-apocalyptic shooter/survival game developed on the Unity platform. Planned features include single-player or multiplayer level-based modes, PvP (local or server-based depending on budget), class/skill systems, and more. Detailed game information will be announced later—we also welcome your suggestions.

Development has faced many uncontrollable challenges: the pandemic, insufficient funding that required extra part-time work, loss of family support, continuous polishing of gameplay details, replacing models and textures, performance work to render more AI on screen, map expansion, and more—leading to repeated delays. We had been approved to exhibit in the Independent Game Area at the 2020 Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games (ACGHK), but it was canceled due to the pandemic. To achieve a stronger outcome when we launch on Steam, we’ve kept extending development to improve systems and content—character remakes, larger maps, level improvements, and optimization—because we know Steam release is a make-or-break moment and a weak launch could draw heavy negative reviews.

Our first complete alpha is currently targeted for Q4 2025 ~ Q2 2026, subject to funding that would let us hire or outsource specialized roles to accelerate progress. (To be candid: my wife no longer supports this work and wants me to take a 9-to-5 full-time job—LOL. That’s why we suddenly appeared on pump.fun instead of pursuing a more traditional path to a Steam launch.)

Why Blockchain

There are only two developers—one in Hong Kong, one in Tokyo—and we recognize our limits. We need to hire or outsource engineers, artists, and other contributors to keep development sustainable, which requires substantial funding. Ultimately, we also hope to approach a “play and earn” vision reminiscent of Ready Player One.

About $FLUCTLIGHT

We aim to fund development via passive creator rewards. Some funds will also support the crypto community. We chose pump.fun because we are not experts in crypto and wanted the simplest route. We have also considered Kickstarter and the Hong Kong Game Enhancement and Promotion Scheme, among others.

Given limited development funds, our plan is to direct all passive creator income toward ongoing game development, as well as DEX fees and other blockchain-related needs. We will not participate in token price action; our focus is on building the game. In the future, we plan to reward holders (e.g., game CD keys, playable characters, etc.). If platform policies (e.g., Steam) allow, we will consider integrating the token into the game. We are also exploring additional holder-friendly reward mechanisms.
